The course catalogue changes every semester
Lectures in the undergraduate studies that are taught in German are offered at regular intervals (every two semesters).
Seminars change every semester, but often similar emphases are set and previous semesters can provide a good idea of what the next semesters might look like.
The course catalogue for the upcoming semesters will be available online
- mid-February for the upcoming summer semester
- mid-September for the upcoming winter semester
Language skills for courses taught in German
German proficiency level B2 required for courses taught in German
To participate in courses taught in German, you need to have sufficient command of the German language (minimum Level B2). Please reflect honestly on your skills and ask yourself whether you are able to follow a class held in German. Please also consider the following:
- You can take German language courses in addition to your studies or prior to your semester.
- Some of the courses taught in German also use English material and you can generally write English answers to German questions in tests and exams. But beware, the questions are in German!
- It is often possible to give presentations in English or to write assignments in English. However, we only recommend that students attend courses in German if they have a sufficient level of German to be able to follow the course content.
Courses taught in English
In addition to the German-taught courses, we offer a wide range of seminars taught in English every semester.
You can find these "Courses taught in English" in our course catalogue ZEuS
Most English courses are offered in these areas.
Please note that the previous semesters may give you an overview of the upcoming courses, but the actual course catalogue can change.
You need to complete a Learning Agreement for Erasmus+ but the course catalogue for your semester in Konstanz isn't online yet? Find out below how to do it.
1 . Completing a Learning Agreement based on the courses offered in the previous semester
We are aware that you need to complete a Learning Agreement for your Erasmus+ scholarship and that at the time of submitting this document often no information is available on the Psychology courses offered in Konstanz for the semester in question. This is quite normal - please simply refer to previous semesters to create your Learning Agreement and enter courses that were offered in the previous semesters.
2. Your actual course selection online via email with the help of the International Exchange Team
All international students at the Department of Psychology will receive a detailed welcome email prior to their stay (summer incomings end of February/beginning of March, winter incomings end of July/ beginning of August) . This email will provide valuable information on how to plan your course selection with the by then updated and valid course catalogue. Our International Exchange Team will guide you through the process and assist and provide help whenever you need it. Important: This course selection will then be your actual course selection!
3. Changes to the Learning Agreement once you are in Konstanz
Once you have made your course choices with the help of our International Exchange Team and have arrived in Konstanz, the form "Changes to the Learning Agreement" allows you to adjust your selection, which will then contain your final courses. This practice is very common and your Erasmus+ coordinator at your home university should also be familiar with it.
