Our bicycle study "MiRide"

Thank you for the numerous participation! We thank the more than 80 participating cyclists who shared their experiences in the saddle this July and August..

More than 80 people took part in MiRide in July and August 2024. Many thanks for that!

The study examines the experience and behaviour of cycling and is being carried out as part of research at the Baden-Württemberg Institute for Sustainable Mobility. The results of MiRide are intended to provide approaches on how cycling can be experienced more positively through changes in cycling behaviour.

During the MiRide data collection, we accompanied the participants on their cycling journeys over a period of three weeks. The individual journeys were recorded using the Garmin smartwatch provided by us, and the participants also answered a short questionnaire before and after the journey.

Via the Garmin Connect app, the participants received detailed feedback on the distances travelled by bike (e.g. kilometres, speed, cadence, heart rate) and were thus able to get to know their cycling behaviour better by participating in the study.

Have you been cycling with MiRide? Thank you for participation!

Once the data collection has been completed, we can now prepare the prize draw for the smartwatches among the participants.

Please note:

University employees are excluded from the prize draw for the smartwatch.
Students can receive 3.5 test subject hours for participating in the study.
For scientific reasons, the study will be conducted in German.
