The Pays de la Loire Psychology Laboratory conducts research on the topic of regulation, with two lines of inquiry. The “Cognitive and behavioral regulation” line of inquiry has entailed exploring the cognitive and social cognitive skills involved in regulating action. The second line of inquiry, “Emotional and social risk and regulation”, is looking at the role of individual and collective emotions and behaviour in a social context and in risky situations. Taking into account that regulatory mechanisms are part of a developmental dynamic, this work is conducted, as much as possible, from a life span perspective.
