SMARTACT
In this BMBF-funded joint project, psychological principles in the area of nutrition and physical activity were investigated over two funding periods with the aim of developing effective interventions in primary prevention.
SMARTACT – Individual and context-based real-time interventions promoting normal eating and physical activity through mobile technology
Funding institution:
Federal Ministry of Education and Research
Funding reference number (FKZ):
01EL1420A and 01EL1820A
Duration:
1st funding period: 01.02.2015 - 31.03.2018
2nd funding period: 01.04.2018 - 30.11.2023
Project description:
In the interdisciplinary SMARTACT research network, an innovative, evidence-based instrument for promoting health behaviour in everyday life was developed using mobile technology in the last two funding periods. With the help of smartphones and activity sensors, nutritional behaviour and physical activity as well as their changes over time were recorded in ecologically valid field and intervention studies. The development of the SMARTACT toolbox and the studies associated with the implementation of the project allow practical recommendations for primary prevention to be derived.
